We have been home from Japan for a few weeks now, and I wanted to briefly touch on this trip of a lifetime. I hate coming home from any holiday, but this one is different. It has left a lasting impression that has been difficult to forget. I want to keep the memories very much alive, but Japan has made it difficult to return to normality and the reality of Australian life.
I am a city dweller at heart and love the hustle and bustle of urban life. Every aspect of my time in Osaka was, for the most part, positive. It has given me the taste of a country that I fell in love with and can't wait to visit again. Despite living in a metropolitan area in Australia, the vitality of Japan and the unmistakable sense of feeling alive just doesn't exist here. This is a negative aspect of Australian life, that I have never been able to get used to. After two weeks at home, I miss the sense of passion and excitement I felt in Osaka and would love to be back in a place I fell in love with.
